Conquest Overview

Ideas can change the world, only if they are tested in gruelling environments and later transformed into reality. Conquest is a business event, organised by the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL), BITS-Pilani to help realize these ideas. The competition is open to all students and corporate in the world. It encourages business plans from all sectors - IT, Manufacturing, Pharmacy, Health Services, Rural Development, Infrastructure, Biotechnology, Finance & Marketing, Web2.0, Business Consultancy, Retail, Media etc.

In six years, Conquest has grown from an intra-BITS business challenge to an international event drawing entries from teams with diverse backgrounds. Conquest has carved a niche among business challenges in India and has received accolades from eminent people across the industry. Conquest has been a vital springboard for most of its participants, who have gone on to start successful businesses and get recognized as promising young entrepreneurs. 4 out of the last 6 winners of Conquest have successfully started-up within a year of the competition.

With prizes worth more than INR 2,00,000 and Angel funding opportunities up to INR 1,00,00,000 ($200,000), alongwith an ever expanding circle of mentors, judges, investors and incubation facilities, Conquest 2010 promises its participants a highly challenging and rewarding experience. The sponsors and partners of Conquest 2010 will provide the following benefits to the participants.
The cash prizes would be sponsored by Mu Sigma and Tata Steel.
Select finalists get a chance to pitch in their plans in front of a panel consisting of Ventureast, IndiaCo Ventures, Indian Angel Network and Setu Ventures
The finalists get a chance to be incubated at the Technology Business Incubator Unit at BITS Pilani. Villgro will provide angel support and incubation to business plans within the rural sector.
Apart from that, there are numerous resources being provided by Department of Science and Technology (Govt. of India), The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN).
